On Disjointly singular centralizers

چکیده
We study “disjoint” versions of the notions trivial, locally strictly singular and super-strictly quasi-linear maps in context Köthe function spaces. Among other results, we show: (i) (locally) trivial disjointly coincide on reflexive spaces; (ii) non-atomic superreflexive spaces, no centralizer is singular, although most are singular. (iii) supersingular exist between spaces Kalton—Peck centralizers super-disjointly singular; (iv) disjoint singularity does not imply super-disjoint singularity.

Domination by Positive Disjointly Strictly Singular Operators
We prove that each positive operator from a Banach lattice E to a Banach lattice F with a disjointly strictly singular majorant is itself disjointly strictly singular provided the norm on F is order continuous. We prove as well that if S : E → E is dominated by a disjointly strictly singular operator, then S2 is disjointly strictly singular.

Multi-access broadcast channels (such as ETHERNET or Fasnet [5], [6]) have the feature that a message is broadcast to all users, so that only one user can transmit on the channel at a time. The utilization of such a channel would be increased if it were possible for more than one user to occupy the channel at the same time. We consider the performance of a hypothetical channel having the proper...
متن کاملOn Centralizers of Monoids
For a monoid M of k-valued unary operations, the centralizer M∗ is the clone consisting of all k-valued multi-variable operations which commute with every operation in M . First we give a sufficient condition for a monoid M to have the least clone as its centralizer. Then using this condition we determine centralizers of all monoids containing the symmetric group. The main result: Let R be a 2-torsion free semiprime ring and let T : R → R be an additive mapping. Suppose that T (xyx) = xT (y)x holds for all x, y ∈ R. In this case T is a centralizer.

We effectively construct in the Hilbert cube H = [0, 1]ω two sets V, W ⊂ H with the following properties: (a) V ∩ W = ∅, (b) V ∪ W is discrete-dense, i.e. dense in [0, 1]D ω , where [0, 1]D denotes the unit interval equipped with the discrete topology, (c) V , W are open in H. In fact, V = S N Vi, W = S N Wi, where Vi = S2i−1−1 0 Vij , Wi = S2i−1−1 0 Wij . Vij , Wij are basic open sets and (0, ...
